My name is Larry and I am passionate about BBQ. Growing up in the south, all of our life celebrations revolved around a BBQ. I have a large family and we had an "open house" policy with our children, so we were never really sure just how many we would be feeding at dinner time. The grill became my best friend, it was easy to please everyone....I've yet to meet someone who doesn't enjoy a meal off the grill!
I love to cook and BBQ became my specialty. I was always the one volunteering to do the cooking at our work parties, my kids (now grown with their own family), still call "Dad" to cook for any of their special events and we are one of those old fashion families who still get together for "Sunday Dinner", usually a BBQ. My love for cooking grew into a passion for BBQ and keeps me busy staying up to date on all the latest and greatest the industry has to offer.

We really enjoy smoked meat and I've spent some time developing the best smoked meat I can. I soon realized if I wanted to produce a good meat...I needed the best smoker.

I started an annual BBQ contest in Newnan, Georgia in 2005 and have learned a lot over the years. I've had the opportunity to meet a lot of talented people and we have shared what we know. One day I heard about a smoker from "Stump's Smokers" that was gravity feed. It only took me a day to make the phone call and get all my questions answered.......it was "heat at first sight". I ordered a custom trailer smoker and have never been happier. I've recently retired and moved to Fort Worth, Texas where my journey is begining on the Texas BBQ circuit. I am also the proud owner of my second Stump's Smoker and look forward to "stumping out the competition" and helping others like myself find the perfect "Stump's Smoker" for their own BBQ passion.
